ROSIER is a scale recommended for use in the ER with improved specificity for stroke diagnosis, over the FAST tool advised in the community.  The systematic review of ROSIER provides a timely reassurance of irs utility in front door hospital settings.  It is a well-written paper and an excellent example of a systematic review looking at a diagnostic scale, for those interested in undertaking a systematic review in future.

NICE  Updated guidance on stroke rehabilitation

Our latest guideline says that people who have had a stroke or experience continuing impairment or limitations on their activities should be offered additional rehabilitation to help them recover. It recommends that people should be offered needs-based rehabilitation for at least 3 hours a day on at least 5 days per week.

A 2-page visual summary to aid discussions about care and support between healthcare professionals and people who have had a stroke is now also available.
